Liebe Studierende

am Dienstag, den 16. April 2024 ab 17:00 Uhr, wird der BiUZ und die Studienkoordination eine Informationsveranstaltung zum Fach- und Masterstudium Biologie, Biomedizin und Biodiversität durchführen. 

Der Anlass findet dieses Jahr im Hörsaal Y15-G-20 am Irchel statt. Nach allgemeinen Informationen zum den Blockkursen und dem Masterstudium werden die Masterschwerpunkte vorgestellt, und Dr. Sabine Jacob wird die spezifischen Punkte des MSc Biomedizin erläutern. Eine Studentin wird von ihren Erfahrungen als Masterstudentin berichten. 

Im Anschluss, um 18:00 Uhr, findet im Lichthof ein vom BiUZ organisierter Apéro statt. Dabei stehen die Koordinatoren und Koordinatorinnen der Masterschwerpunkte der Biologie, der Biomedizin und der Biodiversität, und einiger spezialisierter Masterprogramm der UZH für Fragen zur Verfügung.

Scope: The school offers teaching on the basics of biomedical imaging and provides the broader context necessary to understand recent advances and current challenges in the field. Cutting-edge techniques based on a wide range of image-formation mechanisms – including magnetic resonance imaging, positron emission tomography, infrared and optical microscopy, electron microscopy, and X-ray imaging – will be discussed, focusing on multimodal and multiscale imaging methods and supporting technologies such as computer-aided image analysis and modelling. We provide two learning paths for participants with either a background in life science or in physical sciences. Morning lectures will be followed by hands-on sessions. Further highlights are a full-day project on a topic of choice, an industry day, and the EXCITE Symposium.

August 13th to 18th 2023 – Empächli, Elm (Canton of Glarus)

Biodiversity is one of the most outstanding features of our planet, yet strongly threatened. In this course, we will go to a highly biodiverse location in the Alps, and learn about biodiversity, identify plants and animals, and study how biodiversity can be assessed and monitored in a representative manner.

Eventually, all of you will have the opportunity to do a small research project on biodiversity. The course is open for UZH students of the programs UWW, BIO and ESS, primarily targeting students starting in the respective MSc programs in fall 2023.

We are all very much looking forward to the course and seeing you there!

Liebe Studierende des ersten Studienjahrs Biologie

am Dienstag 14. März findet eine Information zum zweiten Studienjahr Biologie statt.

Hörsaal 03-G-85, 12:15 bis ca. 12:45

Themen sind der Unterschied zwischen Biologie 120, 150 und 180 ECTS, Regelung und Empfehlungen zu den Wahlpflichtmodulen im zweiten Studienjahr, Tipps zur Wahl eines Minors und zur Repetition von nicht bestandenen Prüfungen.
