Summer student position (June-August)

We are looking for a motivated candidate for temporary part time or full time (70-100% for 2 months) help in the plant molecular biology laboratory. Ideally, you have basic knowledge of molecular biology and have taken practical courses in this field. Any previous work experience in molecular biology would be an asset.

Your work would include, but is not limited to:
Characterisation of transgenic plants which includes infecting leaves with fungal isolates, determination of resistance phenotypes, plant DNA extractions, Southern blotting and specific PCR (also quantitative PCR) for gene detection.

You will be carefully introduced to the experiments and would be expected to be independent for the further repetitions or similar experiments. You should be able to communicate efficiently in English. Expected start falls between mid June-beginning of July (this can be negotiated).
