Life Science Day 2010

Life Science Zurich Young Scientist Network (LSZYSN) and the Swiss branch of the Young European Biotech Network (YEBN-CH) cordially invite you to an information and networking event where academic researchers meet life science start-up companies, consulting firms and entrepreneurs.

The “Zurich Life Science Day 2010” event will take place on the 16th of February at the Lichthof of the University of Zürich at Irchel Campus, and will include:
– a Company Trade Show, where you can get valuable information about the participating companies and network with potential future employers
– a Career in Life Sciences session, where you will gain insights into the skills required to boost your academic or an alternative career
– a Venture Ideas session, where seasoned entrepreneurs and venture capitalists will share their thoughts on how to successfully build your own company

What you need to know in addition:

(a) Please note that registration is mandatory, as lunch, coffee breaks and an apero will be provided.

(b) Bring your CV along, as Kelly Scientific will be offering free CV checks

(c) A Business Ideas competition will take place, so you are encouraged to write a short abstract with an interesting business idea you have. The winners will get the chance to present their ideas in front of a jury of experienced entrepreneurs and venture capitalists and get feedback.

Postdoctoral Position Conservation Biology

The Cornell Lab of Ornithology seeks a Postdoctoral Conservation Biologist to work at the intersection of landscape ecology, avian conservation, and hybridization genetics. This position is part of the Golden-winged Warbler Conservation Initiative, a long-term and highly collaborative project funded in part by the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation. The focus is to research the ecology, reproductive behavior, and genetics of Golden-winged Warblers (and Blue-winged Warblers) for the purpose of developing a range-wide conservation plan.
