OneStart 2014 business plan competition

Mittwoch, den 13. November 2013

SR-One and Oxbridge Biotech Roundtable invite young bio-entrepreneurs from the University of Zurich to enter the world’s largest life science business plan competition, OneStart. The winner will receive £100K, free lab space and ongoing legal and intellectual property advice.

First round applications are open from October 15th to December 15th 2013. Entrants can join individually or as a team, and are encouraged to recruit other scientists, business students, lawyers and anyone else with the talent and motivation to execute on a great idea. We welcome ideas at ALL stages of development. Entrepreneurial individuals without a biotech idea of their own are encouraged to create a profile at our Co-Founders Hub, where applicants can search for additional team members.

35 semi-finalists will receive direct mentorship from experienced industry professionals, chances to network with Venture Capital, Pharmaceutical and Biotech executives and the right to attend a Business Bootcamp in London with workshops from our sponsors, including GSK, Roche and Nature Biotech. The winner will be chosen at our finals gala before a crowd of industry executives in May 2014. Travel expenses will be covered.

OneStart is open to any applicants 35 and under as of January 1, 2014, who are living in Europe.

Donnerstag, den 7. November 2013
Attendance to the LS2 Annual Meeting 2014 Lausanne:
attendance of Masters students is encouraged for several reasons:
– a first for them experience at a large, national, broad-topic scientific meeting
– a chance to present their research work (on a poster or possibly a short-talk)
– an opportunity to discover the various doctoral programmes available across Switzerland (these will be presented in a dedicated session)
– career development workshops in academia and beyond
see program here.

Registration for the meeting is free for Masters students, so all of this comes at very low cost!

Moreover, the 35 first Master/PhD students to register will receive up to 100 CHF toward their eligible expenses! (traveling in economic class and accommodation)
Register here.
Recruitment of Master students as volunteers:
In order to organise a top-quality conference, we are recruiting Master students as volunteers to help the LS2 organisation committee on site.
