The iGEM UZurich team of this year cordially invites you to the opening event of the iGEM Lounge Lecture series. This lecture series will feature presentations on Synthetic Biology, Gender Medicine, and other topics related to our project, which focuses on Endometriosis.

iGEM Lunch Lecture: Excursions into Synthetic Biology and Endometriosis

2:20 PM: Get to know this year’s iGEM UZurich team and hear about their project, followed by an apéro

As a team of students from UZH and ETH, we are participating in the international competition for Synthetic Biology, iGEM. This year, we have chosen to address the topic of Endometriosis. During our presentation, we will introduce our project and provide a brief explanation of what Endometriosis is and how the application of Synthetic Biology can contribute to finding better treatment methods. Additionally, Prof. Dr. Katrin Rauen will discuss gender-specific differences in Neuropsychiatry. Afterward, there will be a small apéro, where you will have the opportunity to interact with the team.

The Minor in BioMed Entrepreneurship (30ECTS) is made for Master students with a Life Sciences background
Program: 3 block courses in the fall semester + 1 internship in a start-up

Learn from the mindset of industry experts and successful entrepreneurs how they built their businesses.

Develop and present a BioMed start-up project from scratch.
> What can you do with it later?

The Minor provides a solid foundation for working in the BioTech, MedTech or pharmaceutical industry.
It will shift your mindset towards translational science and business-oriented questions.
You will develop a set of hard skills (marketing, finance, legal…) and soft skills (communication, networking, negotiation, leadership, team building…) that will be valuable for the rest of your life.
